Race Teams & Regattas

Does your sailor have a passion for racing, advancing their sailing skills to a whole new level or want to see themselves on a college sailing team or even the Olympics? Well then your child should join our race team!

Our sailors learn and practice sailboat racing skills and sportsmanship. By joining the NYCC Junior Racing Team, sailors can further develop their racing skills and competing in regattas around the Chesapeake Bay and beyond. Opti Green Fleet & c420 sailors do not need to own their own boat to participate. Laser and RWB Opti sailors must provide their own boats.  NYCC has Optis and C420’s available to lease for a season. Make sure your child joins the CBRYA Junior Membership and US Sailing to get discounts on regatta fees and other various discounts at retail stores.

NYCC Junior Sailing program works regularly with the country's best junior coaches to provide the best training possible. We employ committed regional coaches for our regular programming and Nationally recognized guest “clinic coaches” for class or discipline specific training and events. Our various NYCC race teams practice 7 days a week and compete in over 35 events annually. Many of these events are local and require no travel.

Please contact Sailing Directors Morgan Collins and Wilson Hatchett at [email protected] for more information.
